Ok, so I start this blog page and really dont know what to start with. Maybe I will start with what I like to do the most, cook. I love to cook for my family and try new things. I tell everyone that my family makes the best guinea pigs, and that is not a bad thing. If they are willing to try my new recipes, I will keep on trying new ones.
The two newest ones that I conquered were from a new cook book that I received from Eckerts. For those that dont know, Eckerts is a family farm in St. Clair County, Illinois that has been raising fruit for seven generations. I remember going there when I was little and picking strawberrys with my mom, and continued to do the same with my kids. Going during the fall season was my favorite time, getting to go into the field and pick our own pumpkin. Wow, totally got off the subject. And I thought that I would not know what to talk about. Oh well, just a little small history there for ya.
Anyway, the two recipes. The first on was a Entrees, Applesauce Pork Chops, and the other was a side, Sassy Apple Slaw with Walnuts. For the most part I went by the recipe, but I had to make a few changes to compensate for what I had in the house. And of course I had to add some ingredients just to put my little twist on it.
